The ThinkLab this year highlights Utopia as a central theme. Having discussed ongoing legacies of postcolonial hierarchies, we highlight elements of contestation of these hierarchies as well as visions of alternate futures. These themes are being researched, for example, as societal actors challenging the state, or state actors challenging norms, scripts and orders on the global level. We invite contributions asking why hierarchies are (not) contested, in which cases they utilise visions of future challenges by developing utopian frameworks and centring joy. These are structured by regions covering the wide variety of case studies researched within the project. The ThinkLab entails two keynotes about utopia.
